As part of CAEPNET’s capacity building initiative, the Seamoss Cultivation Training was held virtually in June 2023. The training outlined the fundamentals that seamoss producers as well as members of technical support agencies must be equipped with where the proper cultivation of seamoss is concerned. The training was intended for:

1.   Seamoss producers,

2.  Persons interested in becoming producers themselves as well as

3.  Extension officers.

Persons were trained on

1.   Selecting the right conditions to be considered when choosing a farming area.

2.  Preparation of the farm site

3.  The different cultivation methods that can be utilized, their advantages and disadvantages.

4.  Seed selection and preparation

5. Planting seamoss

6. Harvesting of seamoss

7.  Drying of seamoss; the different drying methods, mediums for drying and the advantage and disadvantages of the mediums
